'Active'   is each speaker managed by its own amplifier, as each musician playing their own instrument.   An electronic crossover separates the frequency spectrum into 4 bands.   Each band has its own amplifier and speaker.   The amplifiers and electronic crossover are within the speaker system.

  Sarabande   Speakers

  • Dome tweeters reproduce the harmonics in the Sarabande
  • Compression tweeters for higher power of the Professional Sarabande
  • The upper voice is where our ears are most sensitive to timber and detail
  • A 5in speakers reproduces the upper voice in the Sarabande
  • A 1in compression driver and horn for the Professional Sarabande
  • The lower voice is reproduced by the 8in speakers
  • Two 12in speakers reproduce the fullest depth of the bass register
  • The two 12in speakers are inside the cabinet, in compound cavity drive

  Sarabande   Amplifiers


        The Sarabande   has five 100 watt amplifiers, inside each speaker cabinet
        Professional Sarabande   has 200 Watt amplifiers, for the 12 and 8in speakers      
  • The large semi-elliptical plate contains the five amplifiers and power supply
  • Each speaker is driven by its own, independent amplifier
  • An electronic crossover divides the frequency spectrum into 4 sections
  • The electronic crossover is at the top of the speaker cabinet
  • The controls for each of the frequency bands is easily accessible for calibration
  • The Sarabande controls are pre-calibrated for free-field
  • Re-calibration is for the acoustic environment and the enjoyment of music
  • This re-calibration is simple to perform, and most of all enjoyable

    The Sarabande accepts signal at line-level, from any control system RCA or XLR
