Large four-way active monitor technology
The Opals are large four-way active monitor system's. The Opals give the highest fidelity performance technically achievable regardless of size. The Opal monitors are crafted in various cabinet styles and finished to order. The Opals are supplied with valve or solid-state amplification.
Opal structures are based on a 3 three way center speaker system consisting of 2in compression driver for upper voice ribbon or compression tweeters for harmonics 12in flared cabinet (as above) or front loaded 15in for lower voice. The Opal system is completed as a 4 way with 15in or 18in or 24in bass speakers.
The Black Opal cabinets (as above) are crafted from the finest Australian hardwoods. The exponential horns are CNC machined from solid 100 year old Red-gum. Each amplifier cabinets contain 5 five 100 Watt valve ultra-linear amplifiers using KT88s The Black Opal finish can be specified to order.
Lenard four-way active integrated sound systems create a 3D virtual reality fully dynamic experience. The effect is breathtaking. Hearing immense clarity and detailed separation, as though the musicians are actually present.
The way we hear the natural world
'Active' is each speaker managed by its own amplifier, as each musician playing their own instrument. An electronic crossover separates the frequency spectrum into 4 bands. Each band has its own amplifier and speaker. The amplifiers and electronic crossover are supplied with the speaker system.
Four-way active achieves every criteria without compromise.
Full Fidelity - Realism - Dynamic Power - Even Dispersion - Detailed Intelligibility.

The Opal system in the above pic has 27in bass speakers easily reproducing 16Hz recorded from 64ft organ pipes. Musically spectacular for Mahler symphonies. The 3 way center cabinet has a front loaded 15in for the lower voice.
The above Opal is finished in Mercedes metallic grey, and occupies triangular corner floor space height 2.4m 8ft. The Black Opal at the top of the page has a 12in flared cabinet for the lower voice, for far field voice projection for cinematic theatre experience in large venues.
